Firehouse of God News

Let’s not forget the Firehouse of God rescue mission this summer. When you’re out shopping get a big can of something for the firehouse box or an extra tube of toothpaste or a toothbrush, etc. The Firehouse folks work very hard and are greatly encouraged by your support. If you would like to help out in the kitchen once in a while that can be arranged. Elizabeth’s son, Michael, helps out there whenever he’s not working. There’s something for everyone to do from cooking to setting up tables and clean-up.

The last Sunday of each month a reverse offering will be given (not taken). A second offering plate follows the first around the congregation. The first one you put in your tithe or offering (there is a difference) and the second one you take something out (don't get them confused). What you get is a slip of paper that lets you know what the Firehouse is in need of. If you can, obtain that item and put it in the Fire-box the next week!

Back to School Party for Washington School
Sunday, August 16

What is your favorite all-time school snack? On Back to School Sunday, bring enough to share with your other classmates here at Grace: Snowballs, Twinkies, Ding Dongs - whatever you like. Along with your treats, remember to bring some school supplies for Washington School. (Remember bookbags!) Let's help the children ger a good start! Let the little children come unto me. Questions - call Mary R.

Ministry to the Home-Bound (Shut-In Ministry)

Under the direction of Mary Russell, teams of two visit those who are sick or home-bound and bring Holy Communion to them. Many visits have already been made. These visits allow the bond between the home- bound and their Church to be nourished and strengthened. They allow for the fellowship to continue, for the Gospel to be shared, for the Sermon message to be delivered and for the Body and Blood of Christ to be partaken.

If you would like to be a part of this ministry please talk to Fr. David or Mary Russell. If you are sick or in the hospital, please let us know so Fr. David or the team can visit.

Our Shut-In Ministry is in need of another member for their committee. If you are interested, please call the church office or contact Mary R.
